What do you think about chiropractors?

Answer:
I could go into great detail and explain why Chiropractic care is based in bad science. Someone mentioned David Palmer. I live in and grew up in Davenport, IA. So I am very familiar with Chiropractic. Read this link from the history of Chiropractic. It's how Palmer "discovered it".

http://www.worldchiropracticalliance.org...

Now if you do a little research on human nervous system you will find that the hearing is controlled by cranial nerves. These nerves do not connect in any way to the spine. So there is no way that this man's hearing could have been restored by adjusting his lower back. I've been to many Chiros living where I do. Not once has one done x-rays. I've even had one try to adjust a 13 y/o after he had fallen from his bike only to discover later that he had a broken shoulder. X-rays would have shown that. How do they know you don't have a compression fracture, a herniated disk, or just spinal stenosis with doing some type of film? They ask some questions and push on your back. Try to get one to show you a before and after x-ray from your adjustment. Won't happen. We had a nurse in our office that graduated from Palmer College. I showed her many back films. She did not get the diagnoses right even once.
Now having said all that, Sometimes they do help with back pain. It's got nothing to do with moving a vertebrae. If you back was literally out of place, you wouldn't be able to move. But they do sometimes do a pretty good job of physical therapy which we do recommend. But as far as putting your back in alignment, it doesn't happen. I've been in on many scoliosis cases. Maybe you can find a video on the net to watch. It is amazing how much pressure it takes to move the spine a tiny amount. Clamps rods wrenches....no one can do it by hand.
OK let's see all the thumbs downs now. But as a medical provider of over 25 years, I consider myself well trained.
Wonderful. Wouldn't do without mine.
Ended up not having surgery for carpal tunnel as my chiropractic treatments worked beautifully. Totally fixed it and haven't had a reoccurance since.
Used to also have chronic back pain. Now I'm much better. My back only bothers me occasionally.
It's a bit of money at the beginning, but the results are totally worth it.
I think they can be very beneficial if they have the proper training and if they stay close to the principles of the Father of Chiropractic, (I think his first name is right) David Palmer. I have two friends who are Chiropractors and they both were educated at Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa, the birthplace of Chiropractic. Personally, I would never go to a Chiropractor who was trained elsewhere. I always ask, if I have to go to a new Chiropractor, where he went to school. Many Palmer graduates advertise that they are Palmer graduates because it is such a good selling point for them in their advertising. Many people know that Palmer graduates are true to the founding principles of Chiropractic. I have a cousin who is a Chiropractor and she went to Western in Portland. I would not let her touch me because she doesn't understand chiropractic. She is what I call a quack. She may hurt you instead of help you. These people who have improper training give the profession a bad name.
They really help with back problems. It does take 2 months or so depending on how bad it is.
There are plenty of bad chiropractors out there, which does the same treatment for everyone %26 does not do a thorough examination to truly diagnose what is wrong with the patients and that will not refer there patients to another physician or specialist even when needed %26 feel chiropractic can fix everything. At the same time though there are good chiropractors like the one I have that works along closely with a physical therapist, along with an MD, who thorougly examines his patients including with x-rays, MRI scans, etc when need be. He also refer his patients to the proper type of doctor if he's unable to treat the condition. He makes his treatment based upon whats wrong with the patient, and I can say myself it truly has helped me with my pain %26 amount of movement.

What do you reckon happens after you die?[don't leave really stupid answers]?

Answer:
You live forever, either in heaven (an eternity WITH God) or in hell (an eternity APART from God).

Fortunately, the choice is up to you. If you're wise enough to make the right choice before you die (i.e., accept Jesus' gift of salvation and ask for forgiveness of your sins), you spend eternity in heaven. Make the wrong choice (i.e., reject Jesus' gift of salvation) or choose NOT to choose and your parting gift is an eternity in hell.

Jesus freely offers you the gift of salvation. Whether you accept it or not here on earth determines your fate for eternity.

The choice is yours. Make it today.

~M~
Your soul goes to heaven and your body turns to dust.
I think that you fall into a deep sleep until Jesus comes.
you get your fluids pumped out of you and then cremated or buried, your family is sad for a while and then eventually they get over it and the grass grows over your grave.
You either live forever in heaven or burn foever in hell
nonreligiously,i think that nothing happens, like sleep except no dreams
I think you get judged by God.. and if you have led a good life you will go to heaven and if not you will go to hell or just be destroyed.
Your question is a very profound one and all of us, if we are honest, ask ourselves that question---because nobody knows until they die. The answer depends on a person's spiritual bent. If you are a cynical person you might think that nothing happens. If you are spirtual you might think you go to Heaven or the Nirvanna of the "next life." So, after babbling, all I can tell you is that I don't know. Sometimes I think life on earth is so hard that I welcome a better life after death. And sometimes I just get scared wondering about the unknown.
Nothing.
Nada.
Zilch.
Zero.
Good egg.
Dark.

You are another piece of wood, an inanimate object.
People who say your soul goes to heaven or hell are full of BS. Don't believe a word of it.
Those who say such things profess to know as if they had experience. They know as much as I do. But one thing for sure: death is permanant. End of a chapter.
Like leaves falling off a tree in autumn, as one gets to the age you just fall into abyss.
You descend into Sheol (a sort of death-place - not hell...more like Purgatory). There, you wait for Jesus (you will not feel time pass, nor really be aware. Its a kind of sleep) to come again and free you from "death" and he takes you to heaven along with all those who were on Earth at the day of his coming.

I beleive that people who lived terrible lives see this time as one of extended torment (much like you do to youself when you do someting bad and get caught and are waiting for 'dad' to get home). When Jesus comes for us, they will not be allowed into the kingdom. They, instead, will be given back to their torment.

I beleive that any "Hell" that we experience after death is one of our own making.
When Jesus was arrested, tortured, and hung on the cross to die..his friends, family, and disciples deserted him. Peter, the strongest of his disciples, even denied knowing Jesus, not once, but three times. While he was in the tomb, on Friday and Saturday, they were all in hiding!

But, after they saw him alive again, ate meals with him, touched him, talked with him, and watched him ascend into heaven: everyone single one of them preached His gospel until the day they died. Many of them were tortured before their death.

So, think about it: when they were uncertain about death and the after-life..they ran and hid like scared little children. BUT, after they saw the proof of life after death, they were invincible!!
reincarnation.

What do you people think about no smoking in public places?

Answer:
Why take away all our rights? They should accomodate us. Keep the non-smokers out of public so us smokers can have our freedom. If you dont like it, stay indoors. I vote. I have rights.
love it! no more smoke getting blown in my face, my hair and clothes don't stink anymore...
I think it is great idea!I personally believe that in years to come, there will be a decrease in lung cancer among non-smokers who work in areas where people smoke.
it's a law that was 25yrs overdue.
I think it's definitely a good, fair thing. If somebody wants to ruin THEIR lungs, and make THEIR air smell like crap and stuffy, just let them do it, but not around us that don't want it.

Simple reasoning.
I am very happy someone took the initiative to protect non-smokers from 2nd hand smoke. I remember seeing on television this one time where this lady years ago worked at this truck stop around smokers. Developed lung cancer as a result of 2nd hand smoke. Good for em and especially good for us, all the non-smokers out there.
I agree with it b/c when people smoke, they have no control over where the cigarette smoke floats, and for those of us who choose not to smoke, we don't want or like to inhale smoke.
its about time
smokers don't care where the blow off the nasty smoke

It stinks and so do they.
So great! I wish we could extend the no smoking rule to the streets. A guy on the sidewalk randomly flicked his ashes in the air once, and the burning chunk landed in my shirt and burned my chest. Smoking is hazardous in more ways than one!
bars should be ok but family places i can see not and i am a smoker but we don't smoke in our new home or our cars
we have friends who don't and my grandbaby stays with me alot so we just don't in alot of places but to go out to dinner and have a drink i see nothing wrong with it
After smoking forty years I quit and started to be bothered by smoking. I can see that second hand smoke is a problem however I still have friends that smoke and like to go to dinner or have a drink with them. We have a "no smoking" rule where I live, however some bars have built or made a "smoking room". We have our meal in the non-smoking room then have drinks in the smoking area. Works for everyone.
i think its the best thing theve done this year!
Personally, I hate smoking and think this is a very good idea. Not only does this help others knock the habit, but for people who don't smoke and breathe in secondhand smoke, they have a greater chance of developing lung cancer. Besides, who wants to step on used cigarette butts wherever they go?
I think that it is GREAT!! It is not good for people to smoke right in people's faces when all the other people are just trying to eat a good lunch or something! Thats how people get sick from second hand smoke!!!
~ally~
A no smoking section in a diner is like a no peeing section in a pool. Who wants to inhale somebodys 2nd hand smoke. I sure don't so its a good thing.

What do you make of this?

the other night i was asleep in bed and let out a scream then rolled off the bed, then while i was DEAD ASLEEP began crawling across the bedroom floor still sreaming. my husband had to yell at me 4 times b4 i woke up and realized i was crawling across the floor. according to him i was going very fast and almost out of the bedroom. what do you think would cause me to do this?
Answer:
my guess would be that you were probably having a bad dream. judging by the fact that you were crawling makes me think you were dreaming of a fire!! the fact that you were crawling shows that you have a good head on your shoulders, and didn't panic too bad!!

What do you live for?

I live for the future. Pain doesn't stay with us forever. I live for becoming a pilot. I live for love. I live for my family. I live for my friends. I live for the potential i have.

you should too.
For the most part, people live for what makes them happiest. Personally, there is nothing I enjoy more than a good, run, swim, or bike. It makes everything stressful a little easier.
I live for other's futures as well as my own. nothing else

What do you know about coxsackie virus?

Can coxsackie cause pneumonia?
Answer:
I had no idea that coxackie virus, or hand, foot and mouth disease could cause pneumonia, but apparently it can. See the attached.
The Coxsackie viruses were discovered in 1948-49 by Gilbert Dalldorf, a scientist working at the New York State Department of Health in Albany, New York. Dr. Dalldorf, in collaboration with Grace Sickles, had been searching for a cure for the dreaded disease polio. Earlier work Dalldorf had done in monkeys suggested that fluid collected from a non-polio virus preparation could protect against the crippling effects of polio. Using newborn mice as a vehicle, Dalldorf attempted to isolate such protective viruses from the feces of polio patients. In carrying out these experiments, he discovered viruses that often mimicked mild or nonparalytic polio. The virus family he discovered was eventually given the name Coxsackie, for the town of Coxsackie, New York, a small town on the Hudson River where Dalldorf had obtained the first fecal specimens
I don't think it can cause pneumonia but it causes this disease of children called "hand foot and mouth disease" in which they get blisters on their hands, feet and in their mouths. The ones in their mouths are the worst because they are very sensitive to things like ketchup and orange juice as they burn really bad. If it can cause pneumonia I have never heard of it.
I always thought Coxsackie caused hand foot and mouth disease.
Mostly afecting children and causing mild fever, sore throat and spots on the hands, feet and mouth.
I've not heard of it causing pneumonia

What do you guys think a 12 year old girl with big bones that is 5 feet 6 inches tall should weigh?

Just Wondering...
Answer:
There is no such thing as big bones. I watched a show were a guy said his weight problem was from being big boned, so his doctor, a skinny guy took exrays of both of their bones, and you could not tell the difference at all. But as far as weight goes, it all depends on your shape, and where the fat is on your body. Some people can be the same height and weight and one could appear to be larger than the other. I suggest talking to your doctor, and having him/her check your fat percentage.
No-one has Big Bones , we are all pretty much the same , if you mean she is overweight then a visit to a Doctor or Nutritionist should help.
I think this is something a 12-year-old girl should not be thinking about.
A great place to start is your BMI. Check the link I have provided.

At 5'-6" your weight should be around 150.

As a note, I am male, with muscular build, my BMI shows I need to be 175. At 185 I am fairly trim, so 175 feels very light to me. the BMI can be used as a starting point. However, if your BMI is approaching 30, then you need to address where you are at.

Good luck!

What do you do when you want to...?

get to sleep. i have lots of trouble sleeping at night, has anyone got any tips?
Thanks
Answer:
liten to music or ur ipod..it helps me alot
this used to work for me.. I would concentrate on relaxing my toes, then my feet, then my ankles, and keep going up the body. I would say to myself silently relax relax and really concentrate on the area I was at,, I never did make it past my knees... good luck I hope you give it a try and it works.
if u want to sleep drink a glass of warm milk after taking a warm shower. then clear ur mind of everything. if u are still unable to sleep try a light sleep aid like tylenol p.m.
I myself have lots of trouble sleeping, I buy these pills at Walmart called Melotonin, they are completely safe and you do not get addicted to them. Oh yeah and they are really cheap and knocks you out fast.
I used to do crossword puzzles. Now that I've gotten in the habit of exercising, I sleep much much better.
Put a pillow over your head.

I don't know why, it works for me. I can't sleep without it for some reason.

Don't suffocate yourself, of course!
I have the same problem, I have not gotten a good nights sleep in over 12 years. I have tried everything and nothing has worked. I am thinking of trying that pill called lanesta (sp)? I have gotten some good reviews about it and going to make an appointment with my doctor to see if he'll prescribe it to me.

What do you do when you remember something you can't get out of your head?

Answer:
I used to have that kind of experience to and what I do is try to divert my attention to something else such as having light conversation with someone or sing karaoke or listen to my favorite radio program. It can make me forget about that thing for a while and when enough time pass I don't think about it anymore
try to calm down, and distract yourself with something else more interesting.
that usually works for me. ^_^

What do you do when you lose your voice?

and no stupid answers like -go find it.
thanks
Answer:
You want to try to relax the strained muscles in the area. You can do this by:

1.) Relaxing your voice. Don't speak or sing if you don't have to.

2.) Drink hot liquids. Tea with honey and lemon is a well-known option.

3.) Avoid liquids that can dehydrate you, such as alcohol or caffeine.

4.) Drink lots of water.

5.) Stay out of smoky or dry environments. Those can just aggravate the problem.

If your symptoms don't improve after a week to two weeks, or you have pain that is not from a cold, you should see a doctor.
When you begin puberty
start writeing stuff down on paper and hope the other person can read if they can't read your screwed
Easy just drink some warm wate rwith honey and dont speak for at least 2 days!! SERIOUSLY DONT TALK. It'll be fine dont worry.
Do hand motions and make faces.
Drinks lots of water, try not to yell/shout too much. In the morning gurgle a cup of salt water (about half a teaspoon of salt and mix it with a cup of water) and do the same thing at night. It helps kill the germs and makes it feel better.
Lemon juice. Swish it around before swallowing. Cough drops help too.
gargle salt water.
Honey %26 Lemon juice mixed together!! its nasty as all hell, but it works SO fast!! Trust me!
Depending on what caused it. If it lasts for more than a few days or is accompanied by other symptoms, go see a doctor. Rest your vocal chords in the meanwhile. It's likely that the chords are swollen and don't work...so rest and plenty of liquids is best. Stay away from smoke, allergens and pollution (also perfumes, strong-smelling cleaning products).sip warm lemon water and if you are not allergic to it or diabetic then take a tablespoon of raw honey about every hour.(I'm not a Dr. so use your own best judgment).

Good luck

What do you do when you have hiccups?

What is the best way to get rid of hiccups?
Answer:
Hiccups happen when your brain or tissues aren't getting quite enough oxygen so it makes your lungs spasm to try to force oxygen into the arteries to deliver it to the tissues. By filling your lungs completely and holding your breath puts more oxygen into you arteries taking it to the brain and tissues. What always works for me is if you take in the deepest breath you can, then swallow air (like you are going to make yourself burp) and hold for about 10 or 15 seconds. If it doesn't work the first time try again, but try not to get yourself dizzy!
Drink water upside down (put your mouth on the opposite side of the cup then tilt head down) or i eat a spoon full of sugar.
I take a drink of water and hold it in my mouth then hang upside down(like off the edge of a bed) and swallow when im upside down. It really works
i drink a lot of water.
run around in circles and yell
ive heard that taking a brown paper bag and putting it over ur mouth and closing off all the air, and breathing, gets rid of it because it traps all the carbon dioxide so your breathing just carbon dioxide LOL its true tho try it it worked for my little brother =D
Yay! a question

What do you do when you feel really sleepy at work 'night shifts'?

Answer:
Find a dark corner set my alarm and take a nap!
LOL
Coffee %26 Y!A gets me through every time!

Sandy

P.S. Just to clarify...I have the kind of job where I have LOTS of down time, so I bring my laptop to work.
red bulls or energy pills!
Soda, and cold water on the face. Or, depending on the job that you do, if you can bring something to keep you occupied like a really interesting book or even a laptop depending on the rules.
Caffeine and try to sleep during the afternoon
go to restroom splash cold water on face.
Stand up and do some stretches. Especially the neck muscles. Go to the bathroom and splash your face with cold water. In extreme cases, I dab some vicks on my eyelids.
exercise, go walking drink tea eat chips.
eat, it's the only way to get past 4-6am, keep some pistachios in your pocket
If I'm alone, I either draw on paper or think of words and write them so that I can practice my cursive.
Get busy and don't give yourself time to be bored/tired.
Drink that energy drink that comes in a can by Sobe.a red and black can.works good if you drink it slow...and it curbs any appetite too if you drink it that way! Your body naturally wants to sleep at night...so I've found that there really isn't any sleeping habbit that helps. Also, getting up and doing some light exercise helps keep you awake as it gets the blood flowing.

What do you do when you can't sleep?

On occasion, I have trouble sleeping at night. I generally sleep at the same hours, about 7-8 hours a night, but about once every two weeks I have a lot of trouble sleeping. Any ideas why and what I can do about it?
Answer:
Get some Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time Tea and drink it right before bed.

Try having a small amount of turkey breast (l-tritophane in turkey should help you sleep) %26 eat it right before bed.

If you are working out, move your work out up by about 2-3 hours to allow your body to come down from the work out "high"
glass of wine if your old enough or a book maybe something boring
It wud be better to consult ur Dr on this?
No sugary foods or caffeine 4 hrs. before bedtime. Take a hot tub bath and be sure you get exercise every a.m. or afternoon, but not right before bedtime!
YOU MAY BE DEVELOPING SOME TYPE OF INSOMNIA

What do you do when you are depressed and feeling lonely ?

Answer:
Have a hug with someone I love, watch TV, tidy up my house, go for a walk, ring my Mum, play with the kids, listen to music.
It's hard, I know. I hope you feel better soon.
sing or friends
I will usually get up and go somewhere...either shopping or for a walk in the park, or call a friend up and get together with her. I do not allow myself to wallow in those kind of emotions.
I will sit at the piano and play out all the songs that I know. Having a hug-able pet, like a dog for example, helps a lot too.
I feel exactly the same way at the moment. I havent eaten today. I dont feel like going out or talking to anyone so, im sleeping as much as i can.
music yo favorite song. call or hang wit a friend. go c a movie to get yor mind off of it. ive had tha most stress over rite now its not even funny so work through it...u can do it. it can hurt u if u have too much

What do you do to relieve stress?

Answer:
Meditate
Exercise. Or, if I'm really tired, take a nap.
yell,walk,read,sleep,eat
im not sure if it will work for you because it just gets rid of it for a little while but i go on the computerand go to www.puppyfind.com or look at other animals and while i am looking i dont have any stress for a while
eat. as sad as that is.
I think relieving stress is really an individual thing. With each person it may take a different way to relieve stress. The best way to do it, I think, is to find something that you really enjoy doing and to just do it. Like I love to sing so every chance I get to sing I take it. I also enjoy going to the beach but like I said I think it's an individual thing. So find something that you really enjoy doing and just make time to do it!
Bike Ride.let all the tension out by pushing myself hard on my bike...

What do you do to perk up during a mid-day slump?

Answer:
I usually have an orange or a glass of orange juice=it helps to pick me up
I have a small snack or a coffee.
Exercise Or A 45 Minute Nap.
Any of these:

20 minute nap (power nap)
Energy bar
Smoothie
Coffee
Yoga
Eat frozen grapes...Yum!...They're very sweet and can replace that coffee, soda, or sweets that many people use to wake themselves up more.
If you're at home, try exercising: a nice walk or a game of Dance, Dance Revolution helps me wake up nicely.
take a nap during lunch break, but I still stay in the slump until I get off at 4. If I'm lucky I'll take another one.
Energy drink and a swift kick in the nuts

What do you do to make yourself fall asleep?

Answer:
I have never found that counting sheep has ever helped me!!
Anyway I sometimes like to have a shower (often in the dak)
use lavender oil on your pillow
I like using magnesium tablets when I am having a bad patch (get the easily absorbed ones). I take them about 20-30mins before bed...marvelous.
Sometimes the tense the muscles then release them bit by bit eg toes, then ankels, calves etc
Also no caffeine after 4pm!! (If not earlier).I find it really affects me...not that I drink that much anyway, but when I try to sleep my mind is buzzing (also eating too close to bedtime and too much sugar can make you "twtichy").
Try going to be at a similar time too...it helps the body get into a routine eg my body gets more awake after 11pm so I try to be asleep before then otherwise I tend to stay awake for at least an hour.
seroquel
cOUNT sHEEP zZzZzZzZzZzZ LOL
Reading always makes me fall asleep. The problem is that I have to get up to turn the light off, and that wakes me back up. I wish I had a clapper or a light closer to my bed.
after i lay down and close my eyes, i keep closing them. it feels like i have 20 layers of eyelids and with each one i close it gets darker. and really, what happens is more with my eye itself shutting down.
http://www.uspharmacist.com/oldformat.as...
Stay up all night on YA till my head hits the monitor twice.
Close your eyes and keep them shut.
music
Count sheep, count money, cuddle with my cat so I can stay warm while I hear her purr soothingly. :) I hate reading unless it's a really, really, really, good book, so pick out a REALLY boring book, and start reading and you'll fall asleep instantly! That one always works. Lol.
Well that depends... SOMETIMES- I mull over some of the questions I couldn't answer, -on here! Makes me wish I were smarter... -or at LEAST better able to help more people... :)
i watch tv till im to tired to keep my eyes open
This is a secret and little people know this...Its a herbal pill and its called Melatonin take one pill and you will fall asleep like a babie in a matter of 15 - 30 minutes :)
Mate, I have tried everything, herbal teas, meditation, counting sheep, reading etc., depending on what is keeping your awake, think about it, once that problem is solved, maybe it will help, it not see a doctor, they are pretty good at sorting out whats going on with you, especially if you have a regular family doctor, I have menieres disease so sleep to me is extremely important, and i was eventually prescribed valium 5mg per night but sometimes even that doesn't work, you really need to source the problem and resolve it, believe me it will help, and I've been an insomniac for over 25 years so I wish you good luck, but remember drugs are a last solution, try valerian they are a herbal sedative which helped me when I was younger, but not anymore, also cut out caffeine and sugar etc, anything that hypes you up, Goodluck to you!

What do you do to feel more active after a bad working day?

no drugs, no smokes, no alkohols
Answer:
Go for a run, or a walk. Exercise.

Or go to a movie or out with a friend.
Drug are not a way to keep you active. they make you forget things. What I do after a hard day at work and school is talk on the phone or take a drive maybe a walk around the park but drugs and achol are not the answer
sleep

What do you do if you cant sleep?

some times i can spend the whole night listening for the alarm to go off! so i can get up.
Answer:
Hmmm...here are my things I do:

- Turn the fan on to create white noise.
- Brew chamomile tea.
- Stretch
- Read a halfway decent but fairly boring book (Palmer's History of the Modern World is a beauty).
- Keep the lighting to a minimum.

It usually works. I sleep much better now though since I am on a very low dosage of PaxilCR. If you consistently find yourself unable to sleep, talk to a doctor. They might perscribe you antianxiety medications or something like that.
i used to hate those nights...exercise an a few hrs before bed might help but i mostly would make myself a hot tea like chamomile to try to relax.
ambien......10 mg works like a dream
I take Tylenol PM
Humping your wife is a good idea
I eat sleeping pills

What do you do for...?

Stinky feet. My husband has really bad smelly feet but its not his shoes. Its his sweaty feet. Is there something he can soak his feet in or something we can buy for this. Someone please help me in this area. Its about to make me sick.
Answer:
the first thing is to get to a foot doctor.and he can exam his feet .but swetty feet can be cause by a health problem also.
vodka works (seriously - saw it on Mythbusters); some sprays are effective, and doctors can give scrips too
I'll second the Vodka answer. I too saw that on Mythbusters.
take him to a podiatrist and have him checked out..there could be an endocrine imbalance or any numer of things like a fungus under his toenails...get him checked out...
Seriously buy a stick of deodorant and take a black marker and mark feet on it...when he gets up every morning after his shower tell him to add putting deodorant on his feet as part of his routine...it will keep them from sweating and smelling...
Him scrubbing his feet with a good antibacterial soap and exfoliating them, then drying thoroughly after showering/bathing. Then use some Gold Bond foot powder and/or Gold Bond Foot lotion should help out. They also sell foot sprays.
Get him another pair of shoes to change off and sweat absorbing socks (100 % cotton). Spray his feet and shoes with Lysol spray every night and good luck! (Could also use a foot powder inside his socks...) Feet sweat less with leather shoes.
Well I'm sure his shoes stink too if his feet are that bad. You can try odor eaters for his shoes and they have spray odor eaters you can spray right on your feet. The smell is probably caused from his diet. Check with a doctor or nutritionost about changing his diet.
Excessive sweating at palm, sole and face is known as hyperhidrosis. Most over-the-counter antiperspirants are not strong enough to effectively prevent hyperhidrosis

To treat the disorder, doctors usually prescribe 20% aluminum chloride hexahydrate solution (Drysol), which the patient applies at night to the affected areas that are then wrapped in a plastic film until morning. Drysol works by blocking the sweat pores. Formaldehyde- and glutaraldehyde-based solutions can also be prescribed; however, formaldehyde may trigger an allergic reaction and glutaraldehyde can stain the skin (for this reason it is primarily applied to the soles). Anticholinergic drugs may also be given. These drugs include such medications as propantheline, oxybutynin, and benztropine.

Injections of botulinum toxin (Botox) given under the skin work well for some patients. Botox works to stop the excessive sweating by preventing the transmission of nerve impulses to the sweat glands. These injections must be repeated every 4-12 months, however.

The only permanent cure for hyperhidrosis of the palms and soles is a surgical procedure known as a sympathectomy. To treat severe excessive sweating, a surgeon can remove a portion of the nerve near the top of the spine that controls palm sweat. However, not very many neurosurgeons in the United States will perform the procedure, because it often results in compensatory sweating in other regions of the body. Alternatively, it is possible to surgically remove the sweat gland-bearing skin of the armpits, but this is a major procedure that may require skin grafts.

What do you do at a eye doctor's appointment when you see if you need glasses?

i need glasses but i am wondering what happens to check if you need them
Answer:
My grandpa is an eye doctor, so here what happens
the doc will ask you some basic health questions like if you are diabetic, family history of ,, etc, since all will affect your eyesight.

then he will show you an eye chart, with letters and shapes,
starting form being large to very very tiny.
then there is an glaucoma test, where they will puff some air in your eyes,, and will give you a color vision test, to check your color vision,, (if not given ask for one)

that is pretty much it.
You look through this machine and the doctor changes the strength of the lenses to test your reading of letters that are on a wall across the room. They then determine which lenses you think you see best out of.
if you think you need glasses.you go the the optimetrist. there they do the whole "what letter is this" routine and then they do a further viewing inside the office. there they squirt air into your eyes to figure out the width of your eyes or whatever. they also see your eyes through a maynifying glass thing that looks like binculars and from them they make you see a picture and you have to say what it is. the pictures look like they're a mile away so they can test how far you can see. then they figure out if u need glasses!

What do you call it when u want butt implants? cuz i need a bigger butt!?

cosmetic surgery for your BUTT?!
Answer:
Butt implants.
There is also a procedure called the Brazilian butt-lift, but it doesn't involve implants. It makes a puffy butt by taking fat from other parts of the body and injecting it into the butt.
I'm sure you can find a wealth of information on the Internet.

What do u think of terminating the life of a patient with brain stem death?

U know that comatosed patients with 4th degree coma(brain stem death) will never regain their concousness as they lost their higher respiratory functioning center, so they will stay on the ventilator for the rest of their lives, so in our country we have the right to terminate their lives by switching off the ventilators(life support devices) or deprivation of the cardiac muscle support( dopamine, adrenaline) , but after the consent of their family i.e if their family asked to as they cannot afford for the expenses of the ICU stay..Now this issue is out confusing me as it is lately stired it up again in our country for organ donations issue from the clinically dead donors

Help me the pricking of conscience is killing me .. almost all the doctors r with this idea and consider them almost dead but Am i a doctor but not doctor minded? .. Am i wrong or right?
Answer:
You did not wrote the age of the patient, if he has crossed senior citizen level than its ok to terminate the life if it is living on life supporting measures alone %26 even if the family is capable for expenses towards ICU! Other wise as general medical practitioner because i witnessed at few occasions, I do believe in miracle to happen but within six month time and if no signs of any small improvement is noticed/seen within this time than there is no point to continue life like that as every one knows it is a brain DEATH!! Do consider that by keeping this patient alive only on life supporting system you are helping him or doing worse to him! Its a Total wastage of your %26 of all concerned valuable time,
Money, drugs, and what not? Deviate your thoughts and keep busy doing other work and forget this patient! Believe me by terminating the life of this particular patient you are doing a good favor to his soul to have a waiting another life of next birth! His soul will bless you! Today it鈥檚 a MOTHERS DAY and here I am shouting at the top of my lungs that if this had been the case of my own mother I surely would have done what I wrote here! BELIEVE THAT LIFE IS A GAME OF CHANCE AND CHOICE! TRUTH REMAINS TRUTH AND IT MUST BE TOLD EVEN IF IT HURTS! SO THIS IS THE TRUTH! Truth is GOD! You and Me %26 all Doctors should always be practical and not so sensitive because they have to take so many decisions in against the nature %26 human made laws! THERE ARE FEW COUNTRY IN WHICH THIS MERCY KILLING EUSTHANIA IS LEGALLY ACCEPTED LAWFULLY.IN FUTURE THIS SURELY BE THE RULE THROUGHT OUT THE WORLD OF COURSE WITH FULL PROOF LAW TOWARDS THE VERDICT TO BE MADE! All country should pass a law to have organ donations in such a cases with the consent of the nearest family memebers !!Actually all persons those who want this to be done than before anything happens to them they should give verdict for their organ to be donated in a case of their BRAIN death for transplantaion to make other human life to live happily !God bless you! DO GOOD BE GOOD AND KEEP SAMAMTA! i AM ALWAYS YouRsmE
there are not enough organ donors for the need and Drs. will ask you to do it=It is still your right to do what you will with a loved one once they are dead
I think that if you are having a machine breathe for you and your brain is dead to where your body cannot function normally you should not be on any life support machines to live because technically you should be dead. It is not fair to you or your family to keep on living when really your in a comatose state.
this is a tough question even for those of us in the medical field. we debate it all the time. i do believe that decision to take a person off of life support has to be a personel decision. you need to discuss with your spouse...family...have it written down ...something to let medical people know what you want...i was fortunate that my parents made this decision and talked to all of their children and we all knew what they wanted and we had to honor their requests. we have to remember it isn't always what we choose for ourselves but what our loved one wants.Discuss organ donation with your family.don't let them make a decsion at that difficult time...sign your license if here in USA and become a donor...that way everyone knows your wishes.DON'T LET YOUR GRIEVING FAMILY MAKE THAT DECISION..you make it now and tell them of your wishes...assign someone you know who will carry out your wishes your medical power of attorney now..don't wait on this stuff and think you have years to decide..accidents happen every day.and families face this every day.make it a little easier...let them know what you want..
i recently worked with a fellow who was in a coma for many years...as we weaned him off some of his meds he became more alert and now trach is removed and he talkes...eats and is alert and oriented now...miracles do happen.which makes these decisions even harder to make for all of us...

What do they do with the blood that is removed from a corpse when that person is embalmed?

I know it's a morbid question, but I'm just curious.
Answer:
It's made into Clamato.

Seriously, though, it's placed into a biohazard disposal site or simply burned.
It is put into containers and disposed of just like any other toxic material from a hospital container. I'm sure you've seen them in doctors offices, where they put used needles. Companies come and pick up this material to dispose of it.
biohazard waste.. a company specialized in biohazardous materials picks it up. after that, no clue
Good question! Now I know, too.

What do the numbers on the side of a ct machine mean?

Answer:
It depends on what numbers you are looking at - there are several sets of digits.

The LCD numbers on the side of the CT machine show the location of the couch. The numbers will change when the tech raises, lowers, and moves the couch in and out of the gantry. The gantry is the large doughnut looking thing that holds the x-ray tube, generator, etc.

The LCD number could be the tilt of the gantry. When you get a CT of certain body part (like the head), the gantry must be tilted to get a useable picture.

Finally, if it's associated with the vendor (e.g., Seimens, etc.), then it could be the model number.

What do the numbers engraved on my pills indicate?

My Zocor tablets have numbers engraved on them...on both sides. The same numbers on each pill. 7156 on one side and 93 on the other side. What do they mean and how do I find out more??
Answer:
it identifies the medication and it's manufacturer
physican's desk reference is a book that supplies pictures and descriptions of pills appearance
1-800-222-1222
That is the number for the national poison control center. They will answer your question for you completely.
Lets say that one day you collapse on the street. Someone calls an ambulance and you end up in ER. They need to know if you are one medication and if they locate some 'drugs' in your pocket, they can tell by first the tablet or capsule, colored or white tablet, colored or white capsule, then by the identifying marks unique to each product may include manufactures name, brand name of the drug product or a reference number. Obviously if they are 'illegal' drugs they will not have these specific marking.
In times of emergency it is important to know what the Patients medication is, as the patient might have taken a overdose, or be taking illegal drugs.

What do the half moons on your fingernails signify? Why do we have them.?

Also what does It mean If you dont have any. I have not seen half moons on my fingernails In many years?

Thanks very much for answering?
Answer:
I think you are talking about calcium deposits... the little white things that show up on your fingernails, They really dont mean much at all. Just that your body has more calcium than needed. you get them more when you are little because you have less bone that needs calcium, and lets be honest we drink chocolate milk religiously when we are little

One cause can be an iron deficiency. The most common cause is repetitive and prolonged wetting and drying of the nails. Trauma to the
fingers is also a cause. Using nail polish remover can cause it as well.

What do I say in a card to someone that was hurt in a accident that was my fault?

I was in a car accident that was my falut because I hydroplaned. The man I hit is hurt and I need to send a card to let them know im thinking about them... What should I say?
Answer:
No! No, no, no.

You are not to contact him at all without your lawyers permission. And if you don't have a lawyer---then you need to get one. Immediately. And don't say it was your fault.even if it was. Do you want to be sued and lose everything? Or have your parents lose everything if you are a minor?
Call a lawyer. Do not call or send the man anything. You can pray for him.
I'm serious. If you don't have a lawyer yet, call your insurance company right away. They will tell you the exact same thing.
start in wit bold letters "OOPS! MY BAD."lol payin his medical bills mite b a good idea as well...
Say what you feel. Something along the lines of I wish you a speedy recovery and you are in my prayers. It's not admitting fault (in case they wanted to sue you, t hey could use the words from your card admitting it was you and not the car) but it's showing you actually care about what happened.
blame them for getting in the situation in the first place, say something like "you should have known something like this would've happened with me in the equation"
How about "Hi, please give me a chance to say how sorry I am, that you have been hurt. If I can do anything at all to make it up to you, I will. Perhaps you need someone to help take care of your pets, or water your plants, or come by the hospital and run errands for you. I will help you in any way I can. Please accept my sincerest apologies, and let me know what I can do to help. Yours sincerely xxxxxx " You probably shouldnt be accepting blame for the accident, until you have spoken to your insurance.
As bad as you feel and as much as you want to say you are sorry, DON'T. Unfortunately we live in a SUE, SUE, SUE society. Only contact the person through your lawyer and if you don't have one, get one. The only thing you can really do at this point is pray for a speedy recovery for the person. You put yourself at risk by making contact without legal representation, sad, but true. Sheeba

What do I need to do about a minor infection from a cut on a 5-year-old?

My son smashed his finger the other day and I kissed it, put ice and a Band-Aid on it. The area surrounding the nail is red and sensitive now, and there's a yellow crusty on the side of the nail itself.

I've been cleaning it and using neosporin on it, and putting on another Band-Aid, but it is still red, painful, with yellow crusty stuff covering the nail.

Should I be doing something different, keep doing what I'm doing, or take him to the doctor? I hate to take him to the doctor only to be told to keep it clean, use neosporin and bandage it up.

If he does go see the doc, how do they treat cuts or breaks in the skin that have developed infection? Do they prescribe a stronger antibiotic ointment?
Answer:
Just keep putting the neoporin on it and keeping it dry. You may want to do a once over with peroxide. Try wrapping it in gauze instead of just a bandaid. Sometimes the air and water get under and doesn't help in the healing process. Just make sure you watch out for any streaking or redness creeping anywhere up his finger or hand.
You need to take him to a docter because it could be a flesh eating virus.
try leaving the band aid off for a day so that the cut can air out/dry out. Keep putting neosporin on it. But keep a close watch on it, you dont want it to turn into STAF
they usually do the same as you are ===sometimes they might give an antibiotic=if it is still this way tomorrow ,give the Dr a call
Back hand it repeatedly for not playing safely.
i'd say keep using neasporin and cleaning it well.. if it doesn't get better or gets worse in a week call the dr.
They MAY prescribe oral antibiotics, but it sounds like you're doing the right thing. Maybe (if you can get him to) soak it in warm water for a bit, or let him play in the tub with the bandaid off to clean it out bertter. Then, make sure it's dry before applying neosporin, and bandage it but not too tight. You want some air circulation in there. If it's still not looking better in a couple of days, or if it looks worse at all...then I'd take him to have it looked at. Good luck!
put a bandaid on it duh.
soak it in peroxide then neosporin and wrap it , do that three times a day
you might want to put a bit of pressure on it to release the puss. Or prick the spot with a sterile needle if there is puss under skin. A dr. will probably lance the infection.
he needs and oral antibiotic. These symtoms are sighns of an infection not a " minor one". This could get systemic and he could become very sick.
Soak his finger in warm salt water 1-2 times a day for about 15-20 minutes it will kill the infection.
Infections require antibiotics. There are topical antibiotics like Neosporin, but infections are not to be avoided nor do they rarely go away. Consult a physician. Its your son and if you have doubts as to his condition, as you do, always consults a physician. NOW.
These days your never safe .I think you souled call his Doctor and ask may be you need to go better safe then sorry.
Yes, take him to the doctor. It has been too long %26 if neo-sporin hasn't helped yet your needs something stronger.

Hurry before some nut has child services take him for you.

God Bless
If you have tried antibiotic ointment and it is not working he could have a tuft fracture of his finger and also an infection under the nail. It would be a good idea to see your Pediatrician for oral meds and an x-ray.
keep doing what your doing but possibly go to a doc to just to see if it`s real bad and if he needs a certain treatment orif it`s just minorinfection
From what you described...

The reason you take him to the doctor, and risk having the "trained professional" tell you what you already know, is...

He's a "trained professional..."
Better "safe-and-financially-put-out" than "sorry" when it comes to a little kids' "future use of his finger...!"
I know what you mean, though...it's a "pain-in-the-*** (huh...finger...!)
You would "really" hate yourself if it turned out to be worse...
An infection needs anti-biotic . Infections are potentially dangerous ; and in this day %26 age with all these skin-eating bacteria and staff infections - better to be safe than to loose a limb-or worse . Don't delay .NEVER STICK A NEEDLE IN AN INFECTION !! Good luck .
I'm a nursing student so my experience is limited, but my advice would be to take him to the doc because infection can get ugly fast (especially if the symptoms arent changing), you would hate for it to become something bigger than it has to be, prevention is key!
I know he's 5, but if you can get him to sit still, have him soak the finger in a solution of clean, warm water with some salt in it. (If you can get sea salt it's best, but table salt will do.) Make it about 1:8, have him soak until he gets pruny, or as long as possible. That softens the area and saline solution (the stuff you're making with water and salt) helps clean bacteria and flush out the crust. Then dry him off gently and use my fave 1st aid product- Band Aid Hurt-Free Antiseptic Wash. Get a cotton ball wet with it and use it 3-4 times a day to clean the crust, relieve the hurt. Because it's a liquid antiseptic, it penetrates better than an ointment can, dab and dribble it, it has pain reliever so you can really 'get in there'. Then bandage just tight enough to keep it clean, loose enough to let it breathe. After just a day or two, the redness/crust should start to get a little better (the stuff rocks) and you should really be able to see if there's damage to the nail, check to make sure the nail isn't split/broken/torn. My hunch is, he probably pulled apart the soft stuff connected to the nail along the side (think really, really bad hangnail), and until it grows back together you can keep using the Bandaid liquid. Here's a link to show you the product, but I get mine from Walmart in the first aid isle. Unless the finger is disurbingly red, tightly swollen, oozing pus, hot, inreasingly painful, or suddenly bleeding, usually you can hold off at least 2-3 days going to a doctor. But if any of those things happen, take him right away. BTW, *crust* is usually dried lymph, a liquid found in all tissues. It usually leaks when the skin is torn or split, from anything like a newly pierced ear to rugburn or a blister. It's the skin's way of flushing out the area and isn't in itself bad. Cleaning it away keeps bacteria from breeding and helps heal. I hope this helps, keep in touch, good luck and I hope he's better soon!

What do i need to bring to the emergency room?

Ive had a bad cough for a week %26#92;, and now im starting to cough up blood, i want to go to the hospital but i don't know what to bring.
Answer:
ID, insurance cards if you have insurance, a drink and snack (and/or vending machine money), a book, and any meds you've been taking.

They'd have to help you even if you don't have the ID and insurance, but the easier you make things on them (by providing the info) and the more likely you are to get them paid (proof of insurance) will result in you getting better treatment (unfortunate but true)... bring whatever IDs you have and if you're insurance card is lost try to bring something with the insurance name and phone number/billing address and they should be able to look up your coverage with your social security number.

Now, GO!
Your instruance card and a method of payment.
well, you dont need to bring anything just go (you could bring a napkin to cover your mouth and maybe a pen)
they'll want an insurance card..of course....and maybe a change of clothes....go there now !!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you can bring a stuffed animal you love. Or a loved one/friend. You shouldn't bring anything that might embarrass you.
just take your id and your medical ins card if you have ins and you can take any medication you are taking -or just tell them if you are taking any when they ask even the otc -and be sure and tell tehm if you are allergic to any medictions.
clothes, toothbrush, brush or whatever toiletries you need. magazines, word find, robe, pajamas, snacks, slippers, cell phone, money. hope this help sweetie! Get well soon!!
Insurance card, check book, yourself, and a list of meds you regularly take (if any)... they will most likely get a sputum sample from you in the hospital, so there's not really a need for you to save your bloody mucus in a cup or anything
you may be suffering from T.B, all you need is your hospital card and some cash or if by billing, your company can handle the expenses.
Just one thing to take to the emergency room...YOU! Get over there right away. If you are coughing up a little bit of blood, it could be because all the coughing has irritated your throat and caused a small amount of bleeding. But if there is a lot of blood, may be lungs or something or serious. Your family, friends, neighbor could bring you what you need. If you don't have anyone to do that for you, then take only your wallet, med card, cell phone, the essentials. The hospital (if they admit you) will supply toothbrush, soap, towels, deoderant, etc. Good luck and God Bless!
Hmmm, what to bring, what to bring. The ER will supply most of your needs. They require you wear their johnnies for ease of examination and treatment. They probably wouldn't mind if you brought your own slippers as theirs are just the pits. You might want to bring some toiletries like make up, tooth brush, etc. as ER visits can be very lengthy. And something to help you pass the time. A walkman comes to mind. I like crossword puzzles and I love to read so I always bring a good book. You could bring a deck of cards, some knitting or other small project like beads,,unless you are so sick that this makes no sense.
If and when you are admitted, it will matter more what items you have with you from home.
Good luck.
Your Blue Cross card, list of all your medications, and the
name of your doctor.
bring your money and a family member you can also bring a pillow cause most of theres are crapy!!!
Take the Id you have. In most states they CAN NOT turn you down if it's a real emergency, which i'm sure coughing up blood is. Tell them what insurance you have, they may be able to look it up. If not, you can get taken care of now and apply for a new card and take it back when you get your first bill. Also, you might wanna take a warm blanket, like a throw it gets kinda cold in there and some extra socks. Emergency room floors get pretty nasty.
Before I get into what you would need let me ask you this. You said you have been having a bad cough for a week and now your coughing up blood. Have you contacted your primary care provider and tried to make an appointment before this? If you didn't you should have because it probably wouldn't have got to this point if you had. I would suggest that you call your local emergency room and speak to the triage nurse and tell him/her your symptoms and they will tell you if going to the emergency room is your best option or not (I'm only a nursing student and I don't know you or your situation so I wouldn't even begin to guess.) If he/she says you should come in right away then you can ask them what you will need with you. I would say off the top of my head you will need your insurance card and photo identification at the very least. If you can, bring any copies of recent medical records you have, this would include results of any blood work or tests that you have done and information about any medication your taking. You should call right away though, I wouldn't let this wait any longer then it already has.

Good luck! :)
most don't worry that much about the ID. tell them it was just stolen yesterday if they try to hassle you. just bring water forms of ID that you have.

you need to get a new form of picture ID ASAP.

always bring water, etc. and something to read when going the the ER or DMV..lol

I am 13 by the way. Any idea at all what i might have?!
Answer:
go to web md and check your symptoms
I'm no doctor, but other than your young age I'd guess Lupus, or some other auto-immune thing going on.
Sounds like some sort of chronic fatigue or maybe mono. You might want to see a doctor who specializes in rare diseases since it's obvious that the doctors you have seen are clueless to your case. Keep pursuing the answer and eventually someone will get to the bottom of your situation. Hope you get better soon!
Have your doctor test you for Celiac Disease, an intolerance to gluten found in wheat, oat, rye products. There are many good websites that have information on this disease. I had many of the same symptoms and was sick for a long time until it was finally discovered in a biopsy. In the mean time try cutting out wheat products in your diet and see if you start feeling better. Good Luck!

What do i have?

i have been sick for the past 3 weeks. Nasty coughs, that are contious for 30 min straight. Gets really bad at night, and mornings. Everyonce in a while i will cough up stuff, but most of the time they are dry coughs. I have been having really bad fatigue. Loss of appitite. Losing lots of weight.
Answer:
That type of cold/flu is going around right now.

You could get your doctor to check your bronchille tubes and lungs just to ensure it's no more than others are suffering, but chances are you just have the bug that most others are suffering from lately.

It's been a miserable spring and that causes the flu bug to be around longer, pray for better weather.

So, probably your best bet is to drink plenty of fluids, rest and maybe enjoy chicken soup (I hate it) and wait for this to pass.

It's been in my household now for 5 weeks, but almost gone.
It could be bronchitus or pnemoniua. You need to get to the doctor for a chest x-ray asap.
Please..

just go see your doctor.
I had this recently. It was miserable. It's been about 3 and a half weeks and I'm just now recovering. I was very tired and my muscles hurt from coughing so much. I went to the doctor, who gave me a Z-pack and Prednisone to get over it. I was also taking allergy medicine and using an inhaler. It might have been time for me to get well, or the medicine really did the trick. It seemed to work fast. It was mentioned to me at work today that the whooping cough was going around. She said her son had been diagnosed. I don't know anything about it but his symptoms sounded very similar to my own. You should definitely be checked out. It could be pneumonia, fortunately mine was not. Good luck!
Sounds like broncitis. It will NOT usually go away by itself. Dr. visit is your answer. Chest x-ray, antibiotics, possibly an inhaler will give you relief quickly. Don't forget, there is no cure for pnuemonia to date. People still die from this, left untreated. Which broncitis sometimes leads to. Even treated agressively it will take awhile to go away. Get started asap.

What do i have in my throat ?

i have a bump it looks like an ulser its small but its been there for like 2 months already has anyone had this?
Answer:
No, never had this. I suggest you go to a doctor and get that check.
no ,but you should see your Dr about it
Lay off the salt! Plus the acidic food, such as pizza and sauces... This is turning your whole body acidic...

Also, quit drinking beer! Lay off the "sauce" for a few weeks and start drinking milk and water, so that your "system" has a chance to heal itself. When you go "acidic", you start to get ulcerations and break outs that wont heal if you keep abusing your body.

I wish you well...

Jesse
I'm not sure what an ulcer is supposed to look like, especially on the throat, but you should see a Dr. to be sure it's nothing life threatening.
My son does have a small lump (it's the size of a small marble) on the side of his neck which he's had since he's been a baby (he's now 16 yrs old). I had asked his Dr. when I first noticed it (waaay back then) what he thought it was and he said it would probably go away but it wasn't anything to worry about. It's not like it's noticeable, unless you pay close attention, but it never went away. I asked another Dr. for a second opinion and he said pretty much the same thing. I don't know if it's the same thing you're talking about, but you should still see a Dr. to make sure everything is alright with you. Good luck, I hope it goes away.

What do I do? Do I apply CPR?

My dfriend swallowed glue! She thought it was cream cheese from her lunch, but it was actually glue from our science project! HELP! What do i DO!
Answer:
No you don't perform CPR, you need to get your friend to a doctor urgently because they may require their stomach pumped.
she should be fine if she is breathing fine, if she isn't breathing well, call 911
STEP 1.tell your teacher STEP 2. go to the doctors office!
give them water it'll b alright
call 800-222-1222
to find a poison control center nearby
First of all, don't post a question like this if you think it's an emergency. Call poison control or 911. Check the package. It might say something that you should do in the case of accidental ingestion, which may or may not include inducing vomitting. When in doubt, CALL for actual medical assistance.

CPR is not usually used for this sort of thing, by the way.
I would call Poison Control or consult the glue bottle. The safest thing to do RIGHT NOW is CONTACT POISON CONTROL. Thier number is 1-800-222-1222.
If it is, in fact, Elmer's Glue, I think it is non-toxic, but you can never be too careful when it comes to ingesting something that you shouldn't eat. DO IT NOW!

What do I do?

I have a kid at school I sit next to and he says strange things like " that'd be cool if you were walking down the street and grabed someone and put a gun in there mouth and shoot a random person and there brains splattered everywhere" and he reads a book that looks weird and i looked it up and here the discription it's from borders Chronicling the rise of the Black Metal subculture and the terrifying violence by its fans, "Lords of Chaos" takes readers on a tour of this antisocial, occult-influenced ideology that encourages violence and murder. 50 photos. 30 illustrations. 280 pp.
wierd and after what happened at virgina tech im scared what do i do by the way im in 8th grade
Answer:
Tell your teacher. i mean, you're both really young and it might just be a phase but it's natural to be concerned. he might be in danger of harming himself or other people, or maybe his behaviour is just a cry for help. either way, tell your teacher.
Ask for a seat change. that guy sounds creepy and I wouldn't want to sit next to him either!
meh, some people are just wierd stuff like virgin tek doesnt happen often
you have a responsibility to report odd behavior.. go to the teacher in private or to the grade counselor.. you need to tell someone.. do it and do it NOW!

What do I do when someone is suffering from a heart attack!?!?

I'm scared my mom will have one, but I have no idea what to do. . .maybe call an ambulance?
Answer:
Signs %26 symptoms of a heart attack

Pain (sudden crushing, stabbing)
* central chest
* Arms (left)
* jaw
Breathing Difficulties
Confusion, anxious, dizzy
Pale skin, cold clammy, sweating
Unconsciousness
Heart may stop (cardiac arrest).

If you suspect she is having a heart attack DO NOT hesitate to call for an ambulance.

Managment for heart attack

Call an ambulance (they may tell you to give her two Aspirin)
Encourage her to rest in a comfortable position (half sittting position, supporting the back %26 head)
Assist to take any prescribed medication if she has any
Reassuring her to keep her calm
Loosen clothing at the neck %26 waist to assist breathing
Monitor her for signs of deterioration
Be prepared to do CPR

If you have not learnt already, learn how to do CPR. As every second matters, and the sooner that CPR is started the better the outcome.

Hopefully you will not have to put it into practice.
call 911. the heart muscle dies each minute and cannot be replaced.
Call 911.. in the meantime... have her to cough as deep as she can a few times every couple of minutes until help gets there.
If she is awake and alert give her two aspirin. Have her chew one and swallow it and hold the other one under her tongue. Call 911 and tell them you need an ambulance. Contact your local YMCA or Red Cross and see if they offer CPR classes.
Definitely call 911! Then maybe if you're really worried about it take a first aid class to learn CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. Just an idea...hope this helps.

What do I do if oil splatters in my eye?

How do I know when I've rinsed it out well enough? And will I go blind?
Answer:
I've had plenty of oil splatter in my eye I've never went blind yet, Unless you have 2nd degree burns I would say you are OK.
Go to the doctor! Everything in there!

What do i do if my hair is falling out due to low iron?

Answer:
Go to your docs and get some iron tablets!
1) Get a box to keep it in
2) Eat some iron tablets
take iron pills, go to the doctor
get some iron tablets down u hun. Any health shop will have them.xx
Buy a higher ironing board.
get some iron pills or take a multi vitamin
Why do you think your hair falls out due to low iron in your system?

Common sense says take a vitamin pill. Also common sense says it a genetic thing.
TRY TAKING VITAMINS WITH A STRONG "IRON SUPPLEMENT". ALSO, GO SEE A DOCTOR TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT ANEMIC. YOUR RED BLOOD CELLS OR THE WHITE MAY BE ACTING UP A LITTLE BIT.
Go see your doctor and find out why you are anemic. He may change or diet or put you on supplements. You can buy iron supplements over the counter.
I use vitamin shampoos , take multi vitamin suppliments(as iron alone wont absorb in to my body). And i try to eat lots of salads and fruit.
Well, since your saying that you have low iron, Im guessing this was confirmed by a blood test from a dr? Are you currently on any medication for it? I had severe anemia for years, taking up to three iron pills a day. I was finally put on IV Iron and within two months it cleared it up! My hair was falling out up until the Iron got better. So, consult with your doctor and follow his or her plan for bringing up your iron.Remeber it takes time to bring it up, it wont happen right away, I also found that cream and balms that say they help with hair falling out really didnt help in my situtaion because my hair falling out was a result of what was happening on the inside of my body. So, you need to correct that first before you will see results - Good Luck!!
Well, yeah take iron pills. Also, there are treatments for hair loss in women. Ask the doc while you are to get your blood checked, and possibly get a list of vitamins to take.
take an iron tonic specially made for this condition, you can buy over the counter at chemists.
Then take supplements for it. Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/... for more info.
Go to a doctor. Take iron supplements.
How do u know that your hair is falling out due to low iron? iron supliments are easy to get but may be worth you having a check with your GP who can do bloods ect and may have other ideas why your hair is falling out. Hair loss is a common problem and I have never heard it being caused by iron deficiency before
Iron deficiency anaemia does not result in hair loss. Perhaps see your GP.
Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages and diet changes can reduce hair fall. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm...

What do i do if i took 2600 mg of caffine?

Answer:
The lethal doseage of caffiene in a human is between 150 and 200 mg per kilogram, a 100 lb person roughly weighs about 45.4 kg, if we use 150 mg as the lowest lethal dose, the lowest lethal dose 6810 mg. HOWEVER everyone is different, you may weigh more or less, and your body may not take to kindly to all of the caffiene, so if I were you I would keep an eye on your heart rate, and pulse, and all over how your body feels, if it gets really bad, better to be safe than sorry and go to the hospital, but you should be alright.
It takes about 150-200mg/kg to kill you.
Run around the block on fire.
Check yourself into a rehab.
Not sure how big of a dose this is but if you are actually jonesing you may want to go to the vitamin store and get some "golden seal". This will help remove any meds out of your system in a shorter time than waiting for them to work their way out. (Purchase either the liquid or a soft gel -they work the fastest) I always have some on hand in case I take a med that doesn't agree with me.
Panic and prepare for meltdown hahaha
Well the recommended/suggested amount is 300mg per day maximum, which is Three 8 oz cups of coffee(approx.). Not sure why you took that much caffeine, but if your heart is racing or you feel sick go to the Emergency Room.
Well, thats the equivelent of about 32 cups of coffee. Do you have any chores or jobs around the house that you've been putting off? I suggest you get as much done as you can before the crash comes. However, don't do anything that requires a steady hand. Maybe clean, clean, clean..then eat, then clean, clean, clean, then eat, then clean clean clean..

PS This is not your mother
People vary as to how much caffeine affects them. The biggest concern would be how it affects your heart rhythm. I have seen people in the ER and ICU from caffeine and it was no laughing matter! Here are some sites with info for symptoms and treatment.
I would plan on what I was going to do for the night, because I do believe it's going to be a long one.

What do i do for bad headaches?

Answer:
You should probably go to a doctor to try and target the source of your headaches. They can be caused by a number of factors. In the mean time, go to your local health food store like an Elephant Pharmacy or Whole Foods, I think Trader Joe's might even carry it... and pick up this thing called Migrastick. It's all natural, peppermint %26 lavender oils that you rub on your temples and forehead. It REALLY helps me.

Also, stay hydrated and get lots of quiet time %26 rest. Make sure you're eating right and try to take inventory of things that might be stressing you out.
Motrin or Tylonol extra strength
Vicodin.
Take three excedrin tablets and lay down.
have someone massage your hands. That will stimulate your head to stop aching.
do u have migraine.
if not pop in paracetmol and get some good rest
drink a cola the caffeine usually helps and talk excedrin migraine. if these are regular and continue you should talk to a doctor.
You might want to see the doctor.

I read an article once that some headaches are caused by a lack of water. So try drinking more water and keeping your body well hydrated.

Good luck! :)
Taking a couple ibuprofen and lying down in a quiet, dark room for about 30 minutes usually works for me. But, if you get headaches everyday for more than a week or two, you should see a doctor. Frequent headaches can be a sign of a more serious condition.
I take BC Powders for mine but the best bet in preventing them is to lay off sugar.at least that has worked for me some what...
Excedrin... the headache medicine
Drink water - you might be dehydrated.
Take a hot shower - that usually helps esp. if you have a tension headache.
Take a painkiller...the one that is best for you.
Rest for a bit until your head stops hurting so much.

If you get headaches often, you might want to ask your doctor about them.
what to do depends on what kind of headaches you have. If it is just a normal headache some tylenol or advil should subside the pain within an hour or so. Something more serious like a migraine would require a migraine-specific prescription. It is important that you see doctor if your headaches don't go away or accompanied by neurological symptoms.
you sleep and wait until you.........
when I feel a headache coming on, i always massage that muscle right underneath your ear. it always helps me...
BC Powder
I go to the chiropractor.
tyenol
the most important thing, you should't use aspirin for your all headaches. if you have terrible headache then use medicine.. (my recommendation is Apranax, minoset or novalgine) if you are using glasses and they are not on your face, just use them. bad eyes causes headaches too. but you shouldn't use those painkillers in your every headache
If you have bad headaches alot. You might want to do a detox.
I did a detox for a different reason, but after the detox my headaches were gone too. Here is a web sight that may beable to help you. Hope it helps. http://www.natural-herbal-remedies.net/d...
Do you have high blood pressure that you know of? High blood pressure that is left untreated can cause persistent headaches. Go have your blood pressure checked at your doctor. While you are waiting to get an appointment with your doctor, go to the pharmacy and use the blood pressure machine they have. I have high blood pressure headaches that make me sick to my stomach. When I get them it reminds me I haven't taken my meds. My headaches are normally at the back of my head.

What do guys like?

do guys prefer a shaved to a not shaved ?
Answer:
It honestly depends on the guy...Just like it depends on the guy whether they prefer blondes or brunettes...or skinny, busty, or women with extra baggage...It just depends on who it is...I think more prefer shaved but I haven't done a survey on this so I don't know for sure.

What could this pain in my chest be caused by?

I took some expired allergy medicine because I broke out in hives today, and after I ate lunch (a cheeseburger and fries) I started having horrible chest pain. I took half a roll of rolaids, and drank some milk.but it doesn't seem to help. The pain is right in the center of my chest, in the area where my heart is, and in the bottom of my throat. Its been like this for the last 5 hours. I don't smoke. What could this pain be?
Answer:
Since you broke out in hives, you may have had respiratory symptoms as well. It sounds like your larynx (throat) and bronchi (tubes leading to lungs) are inflammed. IF this is the case, a steroid should help, which your doctor can prescribe you. Even benadryl may do the trick, I would suggest trying Benadryl or any diphenhydramine product you can buy at the store. But never use expired medicine, either it can cause a reaction, or the more likely effect, just simply not work anymore.
It's probably acid reflux. Your heart is actually to the left.
probably heartburn.
You didn't say how old you were, but then again, age doesn't matter when heart attacks happens. My husband (38 years old) had a bad case of what he thought was heartburn for 24 hours and decided to go to the ER. They did an extensive EKG and found he had an heart attack. So if that indigestion last too long with the use of antacids, then go to the ER. Heart attacks among women go undetected because they think that their symptoms does not warrant a trip to the ER. Better to be safe and go.
Honestly, you should go to a doctor right away. None of this can be properly diagnosed by any one of us.

I had a somewhat similar problem last year. I had bronchitis several times and developed severe chest pain at one point while recovering from the infection, after experiencing some hive-like symptoms. I went to the hospital and they gave me some unremarkable drugs and I went home. Two weeks later, I had the same pain with none of the prior symptoms, and rushed to the hospital in a fit of hysteria. This time they did different tests and diagnosed me with pleurisy, which was the cause of the severe chest pain, which was excruciating beyond belief. I could barely breathe.

So, even though I thought I had a regular cold and just some chronic bronchitis, the entire bottom half of my left lung was completely inflamed.

Not to be a crazy person telling you you're at death's door, but it goes without saying that seeing a doctor is a must.

And, might I add, taking expired allergy medicine is a bad idea, but I'm sure you're aware of that by now.

What could this be?

About 3 days ago my back (kinda like up around my right shoulder blade). It started off more annoying than painful then over the past couple of days it got worse. Now its at the point to where if I move my right arm or turn my head to the right it leaves me in tears. I thought maybe I pulled a muscle but Im not so sure considering the pain is getting worse rather than better. I have been taking tylenol left and right but I still feel no comfort. If anyone knows what this could possibly be I would greatly appreciate it. ( I really don't want to go to the Dr.)
Answer:
I have the same problem. Tylenol is an analgesic, it is not an anti inflammatory. You need to take ASA, ibuprofen, voltaren or any anti inflamatory. I never saw a doctor but I have modified my life. Do not do anything to strain your shoulder. but do exercise by rolling your shoulders back. apply pressure by leaning against a wall. I stopped holding my purse on my afflicted shoulder and tried to take the pressure off my bra straps. Try lying down flat with a cold pack under your shoulder.
Strain. Go to the doctor he can give you some good medication and also possibly an injection and get you back to normal

Tylenol does nothing. You can take Aleve (naproxen sodium)
Have you been online a lot? Mouse?
Well it sounds like you really did pull a muscle. Careful with the tylenol you could take to much and make yourself sick. But you could try using a heating pad and get a massage. If it dosen't get better you will need to see a doctor. You could also try seeing a chiropractor to get adjusted, and some physical therapy.
Well if there are no bullet holes I would have to say that you pulled the shoulder probably by sleeping on an odd angle..pulled the rotator cuff and this can be very painful and a muscle relaxant or an anti-inflammatory like Naproxen or Diclofenac, Novo-Cycloprine..all from prescription at Drs...or go to Pharmacy and buy Celebrex over counter. Hot bath and about 3 hours later use the blue cold cream in a jar called Ice cold gel also from Pharmacy..works good.
IT SOUNDS LIKE WHAT I HAD it started off like that.

Under the shoulder blade and began to effect my sleep my arm would feel like it fell asleep and I would wake up in unbearable agony. The Dr. said that it was due to the muscle being knotted due to damage from lifting my son for so many years. If you can get some one to try and really work (massage the spot) then try some light stretching and shoulder rolls etc. How is your posture ? That was a factor for me also.
I lived with the pain too long and by the time I went to the Dr. I has to go to physical Therapy , endure painful miofasha release (sp?) (basically the guy strumming the muscles like right in the "knot" and then get Novocaine injections in the sight for a year.
I still had trouble but not so bad. I went to yoga, my friend got her license and wanted me to go. I am NOT the yoga type. 5 months later I realized that the pain literally had vanished I do some stretches to keep it up. Hope any of this will help/.

The point is that you are catching it early and then there is some ideas if you need them.

So Sorry, So painful :(

What could this be?

I have had a headache for the past 6 or so hours, and I'm just a little worried. It's in my forehead mostly, but it goes all over my head. I thought it might be stress or tiredness but I'm not sure, so I'll see what you all think.
I have really bad allergies and the pollen counts have been through the roof lately, plus the weather is changing. I've been really tired cause I have a ton of work to do, and I haven't been sleeping well lately either. Also last week, I had a blood test done (they thought I had mono) and they said I just had some kind of virus, and to rest and get fluids, which I tried to do, but again, it's hell week before exams, so it's difficult.
But if you have any ideas as to what could be behind my headache, that would be amazing. I don't have time to be sick and really need this to go away soon. Thanks!
Answer:
Sounds like stress build up mixed in with allergies.
allergys
A couple of Advil (ibuprofen) usually kill a headache for me weather it's sinus, cold, or allergy. Drink plenty of water-you may even try tea with the advil- sometimes a little caffeine will help knock out the headache. Advil will also take the edge off of some aches and pains as it is an anti-inflammatory.
Stress; you are under a great deal of it. It will probably linger because of your allergies and the virus you have. Since you have so many exams and can't really rest properly it is going to be hard to get rid of.

My best suggestions are : remember to eat, take asprin every 4 hours (i like excedrin), try and sleep at least 6 hours (take a sleeping pill if you need to ), and if it hurts bad enough a cold washcloth on forehead while you lay down.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

What could this be?

My boyfriend told me last night that for the past 4 months he has been constantly tired and is getting pains in his chest (but only when he has his arms above his head when he is working). What could this be?

He doesnt eat much fruit and veg (although he is very very skinny! Might that have something to do with it).

Ive told him to go to the doc but he is reluctant to go.

What do you think it could be?

Sensible answers only please!

Thanks

Scarlet
Answer:
It could be a number of things. When was the last time he had a physical. He needs to make an appt with his doctor since it has been goin on for so long.
Saying he is skinny almost sealed it for me. Many men that have those conditions actually end up showing they have a hole in their heart {some instead of a hole in the lungs, but usually that would show a LOT of pressure on his chest}. He needs to get that looked at now, it only takes a day or two of recuperation, and he'll be right back in commission. I've had friends who had this, and the doctors says it's more likely to happen to someone that is really really skinny.
The symptoms your bf are having could be any one, or a combination of several things. Since he is having chest pain with exertion, Heart Problems need to ruled out very soon, so he should make an appointment to be evaluated by his Health Care Provider...
